CCC, the city of opportunities | Permalink

I have come upon a great flash site kept in a server 2 hours away from me, on the coast, the first city ever built on México. In terms of animation, they are OK, but it surprises me how this fellow mexican drew with his own mouse anime-like people fighting, stealing and living their lives.

CCC was created by Alejandro Córdova. He makes comics and flash animations about CCC and how people live their lives in harsh situations. They are normally whacky fights with super punches, guns, swords and magic.

The story evolves around Lucio Vasalle, a newcomer to CCC. He has great battle skills and is very strong, despite his childish attitude towards some situations. His weapon, strangely, is a yo-yo artifact around his wrist that works for practically anything. After having trouble with some thiefs, he meets Lam Carsi, a strange girl (Damn! Thinking about Rei again) with a great intelligence towards mechanical stuff, such as Lucio's yo-yo artifact, and is warm-hearted even though she might seem very cold and serious. She designed herself a robot, entitled Nietzche, which seems to be quite inmobilized all the time but it can move very fast. Nietzsche has a plate with a Z on its torax, a mistake Lam did when she created it because she misplaced the plate, originally planned to be an N. She regrets doing such, somehow.

There are also Flash about other stuff besides this, but seem to be more like music videos. One of the best pieces ever made by Córdova are his Rush series, which are mostly about how CCC citizens survive and fight and some stuff about characters that appear only in the Flash series. They are really great animations that really were sketched very seriously. It is, for obvious reasons, easier to draw black and white animations, but Córdova does include color in them. Rush 2 is one great example of such. It took a month to color such great animation.

If you ever have the time, visit his site and have fun. You might want to send him congratulations for such works. I know I will, one day.
