Me & my Katamari PSP Game Review |
Permalink
Me & my Katamari was released on March 21st for PSP gamers, giving the Katamari series a new low-rez feel but with a huge variety of colors and 80's style music.
I rented it a few days ago just to check the game out, as I became a little interested in that little ich high alien rolling a huge katamari ball around enormous worlds filled with hundreds of objects to catch. It is extremely hard if you haven't played the PS2 katamari games, and the wierd controls (which are many) give newbies (like me :( ) a hard time. But, once you get a hang of it, it gets more entertaining than what you thought it would be.
You still use Prince, and the Royal family is still there, and with a whole lot of cousins too! The levels are quite big, but the space between walls is a little small for such a big katamari to be in. What a creepy king . . . >_<
It can get a little fustrating at first, because there seems to be very little time to get the desired katamari height, or taste, or texture, etc. It gets really hard at the beggining, because the game expects you to know the controls already by heart, so you might as well go to the tutorial a couple of times.
If you are a hard-core Katamari fan, you can purchase the game. If you are a newb, I recommend you to buy the PS2 games before touching this one, it gets hard if you don't know what a katamari even is (like I did :'( ).
Its ESRB rating is E, as you can see in the image, just to let you know.
