I proudly present to you the prologue of an incomplete fanfic I wrote months ago. It is about how Shinji and Asuka fight and live to repopulate the world after Third Impact, as Adam and Eve. I needed to publish it somehow, so here it is. I hope you enjoy it.

PROLOGUE

Shinji Ikari awakens in planet Earth, but it barely looks like his homeworld. He woke up by a sound, a gush of water, he turned his head to face the origin of sound. He sees Rei, standing on the ocean's surface. He blinks and she suddenly disappears.

Shinji stands up to look around his surroundings. He seems lost, it all looks different. The ocean is red, the earth is white, the sky is black, a red stripe splits the sky, remains of the previous ceremony. He looks down and observes the inmobilized lifeforme before him. He sits on it, breaks its hard suit and begins to strangle it. Asuka Langley Soryu, former pilot of the long-destroyed EVA unit 02, looked at Shinji with wide eyes, fighting to save air with suppressed cries. She lifts her bandaged arm and gently strokes Shinji's cheek. With widely open eyes, Shinji looks at her and stopped, rested his arms and cried, letting his body surrender before the Earth's gravity on Asuka's hurt body. Asuka drew her attention towards Shinui, realizing he was on her. "How disgusting. . ." Asuka spoke in disgust.
